Our historically listed Inn consists of five guest rooms and one double room family-suite. “The Heart of Alem” offers you the chance to experience “the intimate atmosphere of the old days” in its recently renovated interior.
In and around Alem you are able to wander or cycle along old historic routes that follow the course of the rivers “Maas en Waal”. Typical small dutch ferries allow for a unique way to traverse the rivers and enjoy the countryside from the water.
For lunch and dinner we can provide you with recommendations for various restaurants close by. In Alem itself, opposite “The Heart of Alem”, you will find a small marina which boasts a restaurant with a traditional dutch “Old Inn” ambience. As well as great food, the marina offers slow motorboats for rent. This gives you the opportunity to explore the rivers and experience the beauty of our country from the waters at your own pace.
The historical cities of Zaltbommel and ‘s-Hertogenbosch are a few kilometers away, whether you are interested in the host of bars, restaurants or culture, you will not be dissapointed. From enjoying a drink on the terrace overlooking the market in Zaltbommel, to spending a relaxing afternoon of shopping in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, there is plenty to do.
For the more active, in only 5 minutes from Alem, you can enjoy “De Dorpswaard”, a 9 hole golf course in the heart of “De Bommelerwaard”.

After a good night sleep the daily breakfast is pure luxury with fresh fruit, orange juice, biological bread and croissants. For a more hearty start to the day the kitchen chef will prepare bacon and eggs or an omelet on special request.
